Blog 15 - Independent Component 1

This is an example of a remodeling taking place.

LITERAL
  • “I, Mario Men., affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.”
  • Gibbs, Jenny. Interior Design. New York: H.N. Abrams, 2005. Print. and the help of my family allowed me to be able to remodel the home
  • My component ended up having me to remodel some rooms in the house, I remodeled my 2 living rooms downstairs, my sister bedroom and also my parents. I helped my parents get a bigger bed and more furniture as well as being able to create a focal point of the room. I completely changed my sisters room by adding a bigger bed, and all one color furniture. Down stairs we refurbished our couches and also rearranged the room. For the other living room we added curtains, new rug, and new furniture.
INTERPRETIVE

APPLIED
  • How did the component help you understand the foundation of your topic better?  Please include specific examples to illustrate this.
    • The reason why I did this as my Independent Component is to see to work with a client but also because it ended up creating a better understanding of my topic. Throughout the whole processes I put in my skills to work like creating a focal point and also trying to see what colors work well with what. I also found ways to included the way to room flowed to create a bigger space than what we normally had. Overall, I was able to actually see what an interior designer really goes through when trying to work with clients.
